I can't stand most of the people walking around the game either. I mean seriously, I walked into Droknar's Forge and all ANYONE is doing is having an arguement about gay people. What the hell? You're playing a game, not sitting at a debate. If you want to debate something like that, go sit down in the nearest coffee shop, don't bring it into Guild Wars.
Most of the people I group with have no idea how to follow instructions or even just listen. The game is so flooded with bratty little teenagers that you can't get a wholly decent group unless it is with people you know. I mean yeah, once in a while I find a good person that listens and actually has input. But that's a rare sight. What I do is when I find that one good person, I befriend them and put them on my Friends List. That way you have a list of people who are trustworthy enough not to ruin your experience. Sometimes I just have to take Henchmen along because I can't stand the stupidity anymore. This doesn't overly bother me though, because I still enjoy the game. It's all about how tolerant you are. I hope you don't let a bunch of kids "scare" you away from the game. |

I feel ya, Tevenlen.
I've only teamed with one other person I know I can trust, because I know him in real life. 98% of the time I'm with henchmen. When I enter a city, if the chat is moronic, I turn it off. The same with emotes when those get crazy. I've also taken to putting people that "SPEAK ALL IN CAPS" on ignore. I've had questions go unanswered in the game. If I get no reply there I look up my question here. If I still can't find an answer I wait until I can, I don't resort to asking in caps. I still enjoy the game, even if I don't enjoy most of the players. Last edited by Zelkova; Jun 04, 2005 at 06:39 PM // 18:39.. |

I think it's true Henchmen are better than a lot of Human Players. At least the Henchmen have an excuse for doing stupid things, and there stupidity is predictable.
Generally ite seems the 733t Gamers are the worst for not playing as part of a team. I find New players (I hate the term Noob, IMHO peopel who say noob shoudl be banned.), tend to be better to play with becasue they will listen to advice and generally not do stupid things. Things such as flanking users with shields so you can attack from the side or rear (a shield only covers the front quater), and rangers taking the high ground (this offer increased damge), are basic combat principles most of them ingnore. Simple combat tactices are ingnore by those who think they are superior becasue they ahve teh best stuff. Those that have the best team will always win. Those who rush through to get to assention and Lvl 20 are looseing out on 20 easy skill points, so you cannot always realy on a lvl 20 character haveing the skill and abilities to be useful. New players arn't inferior they jsut need training, I guess I just more tollerant of genuine failure, and don't have to resort to name calling. Anyway isn't it better to teach than to hate. In the virtual wold of the next everyone is suppoesed to be what they want to be, but name calling and treating new players as somethign lessr than experienced ones just smacks of racism. Even the best players were once new players, and with this game their are always new tactics or combinations to try. Last edited by gabby2600; Jun 04, 2005 at 08:26 PM // 20:26.. |

I think gabby2600 meant "elitism" and not "racism".
